I am a seasoned professional with over 30 years of diverse experience in nonprofit workforce development, community development, philanthropy, and corporate finance. My commitment to mission-driven community work has earned me nine individual merit awards and seven organizational awards from local, state, and federal elected officials, recognizing excellence in nonprofit leadership, entrepreneurship, and impactful community engagement and development.
During my tenure as Founder, Executive Director/CEO, and Board Member (2004-2018) of ParentJobNet, Inc., a distinguished nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, I orchestrated a grassroots movement that harnessed the support of over 100 businesses and engaged hundreds of corporate volunteers. This collective effort enabled more than 16,000 low-income public school parents in New York City to secure employment, build financial security, and empower their children to succeed. Operating within the city's public school system, our organization offered comprehensive workforce and educational programs, facilitating connections to hundreds of job opportunities, enhancing financial literacy, and earning a total of 16 prestigious workforce development merit awards, including nine personal accolades and seven organizational honors, under my leadership.
My extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, encompassing programmatic leadership, operational management, fundraising expertise, marketing communication, and board development, has provided me with invaluable insights into the intricacies of nonprofit organizations. This wealth of knowledge has shaped me into a seasoned and insightful nonprofit professional and visionary leader.
Prior to my nonprofit journey, I established a strong foundation in the financial services sector on Wall Street, where I held various roles at large institutional investment companies. These roles spanned portfolio management, institutional client services, and training/development.
As a lifelong learner, I remain actively engaged with Toastmasters International, where I assumed a leadership position as Vice President of Education within a local New York Chapter. I also serve as a nonprofit advisor, contributing my expertise to various nonprofit boards and volunteering for numerous causes over the years.
In addition to my professional journey, I've achieved personal milestones, including completing the NYC 26.2-mile Marathon and embarking on a thrilling 4,300-foot zip-lining adventure above Costa Rica's longest rainforest.
I hold a Master's Degree in Nonprofit Management, Fundraising, and Philanthropy from New York University (NYU) and a Bachelor's Degree from Pace University. Additionally, I studied at Columbia University and hold professional certifications in financial portfolio management (NYU), training and development, and project management.
With this diverse skill-set and extensive experience, I am dedicated to making a lasting impact on the nonprofit and government sectors and the communities they serve.
